Spinal Adjusting
Restore alignment and let your nervous system work as it should.
Low Back Pain
We treat the cause of low back pain — not just the symptom.

About Low Back Pain
Low back pain is common with more time sitting and less time walking, bending, and stretching. We combine spinal adjusting with soft-tissue work and flexion-distraction to treat the cause and get you better fast — and keep you that way.

How We Treat It
We treat the joints, the soft tissue, and the habits behind your pain.
Restore alignment and let your nervous system work as it should.
Gentle, comfortable care for disc-related low back pain.
Release the muscles and build habits that keep you pain-free.
You're Not Alone
If you're suffering from pain in your lower back, you are not alone! Researchers estimate that more than eighty percent of us will experience low back pain at some point in our lives. It's even more common now than it was fifty years ago, because we spend more time sitting — in cars, at computers, watching television — and less time walking, bending and stretching.
Most patients with low back pain have several problems that combine to cause their discomfort: dysfunctions in their discs, joints, bones, nerves, muscles, ligaments and/or tendons.
Our Approach
We take a thorough, comprehensive approach to diagnosing and treating your low back pain. We evaluate all of your joints and soft tissues, checking your legs, hips and entire spinal column so we don't miss any causes of your pain. We study your posture and the ergonomics of your home, office and car, and gather information about your sports, hobbies and activities. We treat low back pain with a combination of chiropractic manipulation, soft-tissue treatments and exercise. Some possible treatments are:

Disc Herniation
There is a disc between each of your vertebrae. Its exterior is tough and its interior is gelatinous, and when discs are healthy they let your spine stay flexible. If a disc is damaged by injury or disease, or becomes rigid with age, its tough covering may break open, or rupture, and a portion of the disc bulges out from between the vertebrae.
The herniated disc puts pressure on your nerve roots or spinal cord, giving you pain or numbness in the area those nerves serve. The disc doesn't have to touch the nerve for this to happen — inflammation from a herniated disc can cause the same symptoms. The pain can be very severe, and you may have trouble moving enough to do ordinary things like dressing and driving.
Flexion/Distraction
At LifeCare Chiropractic we treat herniated discs with an extremely effective therapy called flexion/distraction manipulation. This technique uses very controlled traction of the lumbar spine to relieve your pain and encourage your disc to heal. While the entire course of treatment may take many weeks, most patients are able to resume their daily activities within just one week.
In fact, the sooner you begin treatment, the faster you will recover — the longer you wait, the longer it takes for your disc to heal. Don't “give it time”; start as soon as you can!
It's very important for a flexion/distraction practitioner to be well trained and experienced. Dr. Bogash has had extensive training in this technique, including two years of one-on-one instruction with one of the most knowledgeable and talented flexion/distraction practitioners in the field.
Low Back Pain
Questions we hear most about low back pain.
Usually several problems at once — dysfunctions in the discs, joints, bones, nerves, muscles, ligaments and/or tendons. More time sitting and less time walking, bending and stretching makes it more common.
Possibly, but not necessarily. Not all leg pain is caused by sciatica; the problem may actually be in your hips.
The full course of flexion/distraction care may take many weeks, but most patients are able to resume their daily activities within just one week. The sooner you start, the faster you recover.
