The emerging science of body weight regulation and its impact on obesity treatment.
Kick up your feet and read this one–it’s a nice review of the hormonal regulation of body weight and can begin to give you an idea of why it is so difficult for some people to lose weight. In addition, we are now beginning to view abdominal fat as its own entity, capable of affecting metabolism and regulating/dysrupting other hormones. This contrasts with the long held view that abdominal fat was merely a “dumping ground” for excess fat.
